chip cards

It has been one year since chip cards were implemented, and many Americans still find them to be extremely annoying. Swiping your card is so much quicker than inserting it. As Americans, we like things to be quick so that we can keep up with our fast pace lifestyles. Since we are so caught up in doing everything as quick as possible, it can be easy to forget the reasons that chip cards were implemented in the first place.

While it may take longer to process, chip cards provide security for your credit card that swiping can not. According to an article on mashable.com by Emma Hinchliffe, chip cards are more secure because each transaction creates a unique code that is kept between the chip on your card, and the chip in the card reader. By doing so, fraudulent charges are able to be caught much sooner.
